Based on the research of the energy embodied by building materials and transportation energy consumption, presents a simplified calculation method for construction energy consumption. Analyses a large number of cases, including residential buildings, normal and large-scale office buildings.  Finds out that the average level of construction energy consumption of the three buildings are approximately 3 850, 5 500 and 7 300 MJ/m2 separately, and is respectively equal to their total operation consumption of 8, 13 and 9 years. Moreover, the result also shows that steel, cement, concrete and wall materials are main energy consumption materials.
